Sacred Earth runs four passages through Uganda — past Bwindi, down the Nile below Murchison, up the Sipi cliffs onto Mount Elgon, out to Kidepo at the end of the road. Every stay on those routes is chosen the way the routes themselves were: by driving the ground and standing in the place.
What we look for
We call it the Held standard, and it is written out on Stays. A place held by someone who knows the ground it stands on — who built it, grew up beside it, or has kept it long enough to answer for it. A camp can be simple and meet the standard. It cannot be anonymous and meet it. If the honest answer to “who holds this place?” is a management company’s brochure, we are the wrong partner.
What partnership means
- Named hosts. The people who hold your place are named in what we publish and in what our travellers receive — with their agreement, never without it.
- Photography with consent. Everything on this site was shot on the ground by Sacred Earth — no stock, no staging. Nobody appears in a frame they did not agree to, and that includes your staff and your neighbours.
- Money that can be itemised. If a claim about community revenue cannot be broken into line items, we do not print the claim. Not yours, not ours.
- Plain-language agreements. What we hold every partner to is public, on Partner standards. The agreement between us reads the same way.
What to send
One email: the property’s name and where it stands, to hello@sacredearth.travel. If it sits on or near one of the passages — Bwindi, the Nile, the Kazinga Channel, Sipi, Kidepo, the Fort Portal crater lakes — say so. Photographs help; a polished website does not matter to us.
One honest note before you write: we are small, we run Uganda only for now, and we would rather keep the stays list short than pad it. If your place is held the way we mean, we want to hear from you.
